1938 — 2022
Our beloved mother, Nola Miller Howell, 83, died on Saturday May 7, 2022. She was born in Ogden on December 29, 1938 to Byron Frank Miller and Leona Elizabeth Engelke.
In 1957, Nola graduated from Ogden High School. She married Merrill Berne Howell on September 20, 1957. She spent more than 30 years as a dedicated associate for Smith’s Food and Drug, in positions ranging from accountant to digitization coordinator.
Nola was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. His most treasured calling was as a service missionary in family history quality control. She had many hobbies and among her favorites were gardening, genealogy, travel and sewing. His most treasured trips were his visits to Israel, England, and LDS historic sites. She also enjoyed helping to organize the Ogden High School Class of 1957 reunions and serving on reunion committees over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, siblings Donnell Miller, Keith Miller, Joan Sorensen and Bonnie Kranendonk.
She is survived by her sons Keith J. (Michelle) Howell of North Ogden and Brad M. (Jolene) Howell of Draper, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at the North Ogden Utah East Stake Center, 900 E. 2850 N., North Ogden with a visitation preceding the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A visitation will also be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Burial at Ben Lomond Cemetery.
