Oaks Hotels, Resorts and Suites will be Opera Australia’s preferred apartment accommodation partner throughout the 2022 season in a new Gold partnership with the performing arts company.
Minor Hotels’ commercial director for Australia and New Zealand, John Thompson, said it was important to support the arts industry to thrive as we emerge from the pandemic.
“The importance of the arts to society cannot be underestimated and with the 2022 season featuring some of the world’s best-loved shows, we are delighted to support Opera Australia in what is shaping up to be a very successful season,” Thompson said.
Opera Australia presents over 600 performances each year to a combined audience of over half a million people. Opera Australia CEO Fiona Allan is expecting a busy season with performances including Handa Opera on Sydney Harbor – The Phantom of the Opera, Madama Butterfly, Cinderella and La Traviata.
“We are delighted to finally be able to return to performing nationally, with shows scheduled in almost every Australian state and territory in 2022,” said Allan.
“And as we recover from the devastation the pandemic has inflicted on the arts and travel industries, this partnership between Opera Australia and Minor Hotels Australia and New Zealand Oaks is particularly invaluable.”
