QUEENS PARK RANGERS have been awarded Family Excellence status for the 2021/22 season and join a record 65 EFL clubs in earning the accolade. 12 clubs were also crowned as ‘Gold Award’ winners for their exemplary work in engaging families on matchdays.

The record number, up from 63 clubs in 2019/20, recognizes continuous improvement and best practice in family engagement across all leagues and supports clubs’ efforts to attract and retain young fans of the future.

Given the particularly difficult set of circumstances that society has faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, the work of EFL clubs to ensure that supporters have been welcomed safely, while improving the experience of match days has been recognized throughout the program this season.

EFL clubs received two ‘mystery family’ visits throughout the season, with their comments and reports determining whether each respective club would achieve ‘Family Excellence’ status. Now in its 14th year, the Family Excellence Program is an ongoing consulting program, which aims to drive continuous improvement and best practices in family engagement across all leagues.

Club CEO Lee Hoos explained: “We are delighted to have been recognized once again by the EFL for our efforts to continue to deliver a memorable match experience.

“The Family’s Excellence Status highlights the tremendous amount of dedication, commitment and pride we have in ensuring that our supporters and their families enjoy their visit to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.”

EFL chief executive Trevor Birch said: “I want to congratulate the record number of clubs that have achieved Family Excellence status this season.
