Swiss high-level delegation visits Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM – A high-level Swiss delegation arrived in Bishkek on March 7 to strengthen cooperation ties with the Kyrgyz Republic and learn about the results of Swiss-funded projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan, the Swiss Embassy said. .

The Swiss government is represented by Ambassador Ms. Patricia Danzi, Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Ambassador Mr. Dominique Paravicini, Head of the Economic Cooperation and Development Division and delegate of the Federal Council of trade agreements at the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The purpose of this visit is to learn more about the challenges Kyrgyzstan is facing today.

The Swiss delegation will meet with representatives of the Kyrgyz government to discuss issues of development and economic cooperation as well as bilateral trade and investment. They will also meet representatives of the business sector, international organizations and civil society.

Ms. Danzi and Mr. Paravicini will visit Swiss-funded development projects in various regions of Chui Oblast, particularly in the water, tourism, health and local governance sectors, and learn from citizens who have benefited from these projects how Swiss support has helped to improve the quality of their lives. The two ambassadors will also learn more about Kyrgyz culture and visit the capital.
